Very Inspiring Blogger Award

Yesterday I found out that I received a ‘Very Inspiring Blogger Award’ on a blog post of early February (MS: a social disconnect) and the award comes from ExperiencedTutors on WordPress.com. Needless to say it was quite a pleasant surprise because as a blogger I actually wondered if anyone found it interesting enough what I was writing. I suppose doubting yourself is a trait a lot of people who write have, and I am certainly no stranger to feeling that way. Either way, the blogger who gave the award always has very good posts and I find the ExperiencedTutors blog to be a very interesting, because as I grow older, I realize how important learning and studying is, and their blog speaks to me because the bloggers contributing to it often talk about books and libraries. What they write is often a starting idea in my mind that makes me think longer and more about learning and improving my own knowledge. So please do check out their blog, you won’t be disappointed at all.

As with all awards and nominations, there are rules that need to be followed. So here we go:

1. Link back to the blogger who nominated you: http://experiencedtutors.wordpress.com/

 2. Post the award image to your page. Done!

3. Share 7 facts about yourself.

Great, I love lists so here we go:

ψ I tend to come across as rather stoic in certain circumstances, not because I am stoic, but because I do not want to give away any emotions just yet…

ψ Single girl, almost at the cape of turning 40 ***gulp… yes I know!*** but still feeling like she’s 16. OK maybe that is a wee bit too young, perhaps feeling like I still am 17… young, restless, eager to find out more and to find a cure to hatred, wars and ignorance…

ψ Often make mistakes, but always ready to apologise when I have. Despite making mistakes, I realise I am only human, but that doesn’t give me the right to make mistakes on purpose. I do have no problem at all with apologising and in saying it was my mistake…

ψ I love cinema big time. There’s something about the yearning of finding out what the film will be like, the trailers and the popcorn that make it a perfect date night. Did I say date? Oh sorry, dates are something I haven’t had in a long time! And seeing I love reading, libraries and anything written so much, I still cry when the library of Alexandria is burned down in the film Cleopatra! Really I do!

ψ Despite turning 40 this summer, I can still feel wonder when I discover something new. Like my mum once said: I have eyes filled with wonder going on, as if I’ve just learned that Santa Claus is real and that he will be parking his reindeer in the back garden all year round

ψ Life with MS is hard but it’s not the end of the world. It is not my 24/7 world any longer because I refuse to be associated as “the one with MS,” but I want to be remembered as “she’s the girl who tries to make the best of things”

ψ Moved to Ireland in 2002, not for the money or the jobs, but because of Ireland. It’s this magical, ethereal place where things to do wrong politically, financially and in society, but as long as I remain captivated by its nature, its people and its culture, I am staying put. I will have to be kicked out of Ireland – literally – if Ireland would ever think it has enough of me, kind of dropping me from an airplane over England or in the Irish Sea. That’ll give me one sore bum, and a tortured soul alright.

4. Nominate 5 other blogs and inform them about it. These blogs always make me look forward to reading and seeing more. They are either about photography, literature, life or just about anything, but they capture me every single time.
